The period poverty epidemic and its resounding consequences is something that weighs very heavily on my heart. Due to the wage gap and pink tax in South Africa, many woman are forced to miss work and school due to their periods, and I find this terrifying.

So I collaborated with a brand to create these animated illustrations and put them on social media. The illustrations were coupled with a caption stating information about period poverty in south Africa, and where people could donate a menstrual cup to underprivileged schools, and which brands to use in order to donate.

Often, images relating to menstruation and its consequences are very visceral and intense, so I wanted to make it bright, interesting to look at, & therefore less shocking
